Just east of the centre of the Lake District lies Helvellyn, a prominent peak whose name in old Cumbrian means 'The Yellow Moor'. During winter, every morning, the Fell Top Assessor makes the climb to the summit from nearby Grisedale to assess the walking conditions among the peaks.
